About The Position

To plan, develop and teach pre-licensure Nursing Science classes in the clinical setting and the campus skills lab. To carry out other duties associated with lecturer responsibilities to include but not limited to: maintaining accurate student records/clinical grades, coordinating clinical instruction with other faculty; coordinating student experiences with clinical personnel; maintaining communications between the University and clinical agencies including participation in annual summation meetings; participating in curriculum development; participating in CCNE and BRN accreditation activities; participating in curriculum excellence by remaining current in the subject matter and techniques of effective instruction through recent clinical experience and professional development.

Requirements

  • A Masters degree in nursing or higher from an accredited college or university which includes courses in nursing education
  • Demonstrated leadership in teaching baccalaureate-level nursing and BRN content areas.
  • Experience with teaching and student learning outcomes evaluation.
  • Possession of a current active California RN license.
  • At least one year experience teaching courses related to pediatrics nursing or a course that includes practice in teaching nursing.
  • At least two years continuous full time experience in direct patient care practice as an RN.
  • At least one year of continuous full time experience in direct patient care practice as an RN within the last 3 years or eligibility for the Board of Registered Nurses approval to teach pediatrics nursing.
  • Applicants should demonstrate the ability to effectively engage with a broad student population and provide mentorship that supports student academic success.
