About The Position

Carrier is seeking a highly skilled Commercial HVAC Instructional Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems and instructional design, with the ability to create engaging and effective training materials for our commercial HVAC technicians. This role will involve collaborating with subject matter experts, designing curriculum, and developing a variety of training materials to support the ongoing professional development of our technicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience in Instructional Design, Education, or HVAC Engineering

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, HVAC Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in instructional design, particularly in developing technical training materials for HVAC systems.
  • Experience in the commercial HVAC sector is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of HVAC principles, equipment, and systems commonly used in commercial settings.
  • Proficiency with instructional design software and tools, such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, or similar platforms.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and learning objectives for commercial HVAC technicians.
  • Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive curriculum for commercial HVAC technician training programs, including both classroom-based and online learning materials.
  • Create engaging and interactive training materials, such as presentations, videos, simulations, and e-learning modules, to effectively convey technical concepts and procedures.
  • Incorporate adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to ensure training materials are effective and engaging for learners.
  • Utilize appropriate instructional technologies and learning management systems to deliver and track training programs.
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs and make continuous improvements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in HVAC systems and instructional design.
  • Collaborate with other members of the training and development team to support broader organizational learning initiatives.
