About The Position

Insulet started in 2000 with an idea and a mission to enable people living with diabetes to enjoy simplicity, freedom, and healthier lives using the tubeless Omnipod® product platform. In the last two decades, we have improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of people living with diabetes by using innovative technology that is wearable, waterproof, and lifestyle-accommodating. Insulet recently launched the Omnipod® 5 System, a tubeless automated insulin delivery system featuring integration with the Dexcom G6 CGM and the option to control the System using an App on the user's mobile phone. We are looking for a creative, user-focused Instructional Designer to be a part of our expanding Instructional Design team. We're re-imagining how our customers learn to use our products through innovation in our product training methods, learning materials, user guides, and embedded learning.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in a discipline related to instructional design and learning technologies (such as communication, education, psychology, or clinical education), or 3 years related experience creating educational, technical, or labeling materials for a medical device manufacturer and/or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Healthcare, life sciences, or diabetes experience preferred.
  • Must have ability to understand medical, clinical, and technical aspects of diabetes management and drug delivery products.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, collaborate, and execute on the maintenance and/or creative development of learning materials for market launches (or related milestones) of a product's customer facing product instruction.
  • Explain concepts and features in simple, layperson language (8th grade level or below), tailoring your writing style to various age groups and audiences to maximize content retention.
  • Organize and drive timely reviews and iterations with all subject matter experts and stakeholders (both internal and external) of all instructional documents being developed, particularly with UX, Medical, and Human Factors.
  • Facilitate product training development for human factors testing (when relevant) to demonstrate that instructional material is easy to understand, learning objectives are achieved, and use error risks are reduced.
  • Maintain, in a detailed and organized manner, the electronic libraries of all materials used in the development of instructional materials from development phases through release to production.
  • Ensure efficient release and quality hand-off of outputs to MLR teams for timely review, approval, and sustained design control and production.
  • Actively participate on improvements to processes for operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Report on all tasks and progress on execution following organizational practices and standards established by Program Management and project leadership.
  • Support and maintain documentation links between Insulet and all external partners.

Benefits

  • The US base salary range for this full-time position is $92,475.00 - $138,712.50.
  • Hybrid working arrangements (requires on-site work from an Insulet office up to 3x/week; may work remotely other days).
