About The Position

The Instructional Design Specialist at the Center for the Young Child is responsible for designing, developing, and managing online professional development content aimed at supporting individuals who work with young children with developmental disabilities. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to implement innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment. The specialist will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality educational resources are developed and maintained.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in instructional design for online training and product development from concept to release.
  • Experience authoring and revising content from subject matter experts in early childhood education and related fields.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with technology applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online environments.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Early childhood or teacher certification/licensure.
  • Experience with multimedia production such as webinars and podcasts.
  • Design experience in graphic and multimedia layout.
  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines for online resources.

Responsibilities

  • Manage online resources and professional development for the Center for the Young Child, including researching topics, writing content, and designing supporting materials.
  • Scope, plan, manage, and assess projects across their full life cycle in partnership with the Center Director and Project Manager.
  • Balance time across multiple projects and take direction from various project leads.
  • Collaborate with OCALI's creative and technical services from initial concept to release of resources and professional development.
  • Develop and review program evaluations, test results, and participant feedback to recommend program improvements.
  • Stay updated on evolving evidence-based practices for young children through collaboration with team members and SMEs.
  • Collaborate with state partners and stakeholders to deliver resources in a coordinated manner.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and responsiveness in communication with stakeholders and during meetings.
