About The Position

The Instructional Designer builds clear, high‑impact learning that enables employees to confidently adopt knowledge for business processes across Services, Sales, HR, Legal, and Compliance. Partnering closely with SMEs and stakeholders, this role applies Adult Learning Theory and modern design methodologies (ADDIE/SAM/Agile) to produce eLearning, videos, job aids, work instructions, and virtual/ILT content that accelerate performance and reduce support burden. Working on projects of moderate scope and complexity, identifying solutions to a variety of technical problems and taking action to resolve them, and applying judgment within defined parameters while following Vertiv design and brand standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, or a similar discipline, or a minimum of 2-5 years of proven business experience in a similar field.
  • Experience creating eLearning modules, job aids, work instructions, and/or technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with instructional design concepts and standards.
  • Experience with digital content creation tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, DeepL, and Vyond.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills at multiple business levels.
  • Understanding of virtual delivery methods and media production techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., Docebo, Cornerstone, Blackboard, Workday) and administration preferred.
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as ATD, CompTIA CTT+, etc., are preferred.
  • Willingness to expand skills to meet evolving business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs, learner/persona, task/topic analyses; finalize measurable learning objectives; determine learning methodology (e.g., microlearning, scenario‑based, simulation, VILT/ILT, video).
  • Apply Adult Learning Theory and accessibility standards; create topic outlines, storyboards, scripts, and assessment plans.
  • Design and deliver high-impact training programs across multiple formats, including eLearning and video, accommodating various learning styles.
  • Collaborate with program managers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to develop and refine learning materials aligned with business goals and localization needs.
  • Build and manage project plans, milestones, risks, and status; meet deadlines with disciplined time management.
  • Review and edit all training materials for clarity, consistency, and accuracy, resulting in concise work instructions.
  • Address feedback and implement changes promptly to meet deliverables on time.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding training materials and courses with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Conduct learner analysis interviews to define target personas and create audience-specific training programs.
  • Ensure all training content aligns with the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
