About The Position

The Instructional Coach supports the improvement of instructional practice and student outcomes through job-embedded coaching and professional learning. This role partners with teachers to strengthen curriculum implementation, data-driven instruction, and classroom practices aligned to KIPP St. Louis instructional expectations. Reporting to the School Leader or Assistant School Leader, the Instructional Coach provides individualized coaching cycles, models effective instruction, and supports teachers in analyzing student data to continuously improve teaching and learning. Requirements

  • 2+ years of successful classroom teaching experience with strong student achievement results
  • Demonstrated impact on student outcomes and instructional practice
  • Strong instructional practice and content knowledge
  • Ability to coach teachers using data and student work
  • Bachelor's Degree in education or related field
  • Facilitation skills for adult learning
  • Formal training in coaching frameworks or adult learning
  • State teaching certification in a content area

Nice To Haves

  • Prior coaching or mentor experience
  • Record of driving results in a K-12 educational environment
  • Master's Degree in a content area, curriculum or reading specialist

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide actionable feedback.
  • Lead coaching cycles including goal-setting, modeling, and follow-up.
  • Support teachers with lesson planning, pacing, and differentiation.
  • Model effective instructional strategies on a weekly basis.
  • Support teachers in analyzing student work and assessment data.
  • Facilitate data discussions to improve instructional decisions.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust coaching strategies accordingly.
  • Support professional learning aligned to school priorities.
  • Reinforce instructional expectations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align coaching with school improvement goals.
  • Partner with school leadership to identify instructional priorities.
  • Support grade-level and content teams in strengthening instruction.
  • Contribute to schoolwide instructional improvement efforts.
