Power Scholars Academy (PSA) is a summer program designed to prevent learning loss and provide academic support. It serves K-8 students from San Francisco and San Mateo County, helping them strengthen their academic foundation as well as social-emotional and critical thinking skills. Participants engage in daily math and literacy instruction, delivered by credentialed teachers, for three hours a day, four days a week. This structure helps address learning gaps and prepares students for the next school year. The Instructional Coach plays a critical role in supporting classroom teachers and assistants to enhance instruction in language arts and math, increase student engagement, and improve academic outcomes. Responsibilities include teaching or substituting for a cohort when necessary, overseeing the administration of assessments, and guiding teachers in using assessment data to personalize instruction and organize student groups effectively. Instructional Coaches also work with program leadership to develop and deliver teacher training and serve as key on-site leaders. The program will run from June 8th to July 24th, 2026, with specific dates varying by district site. Training will begin around Spring 2026 and will include sessions tailored to the program and individual training needs.
