North Marion High School is seeking a qualified Instructional Assistant to support students in a self-contained special education classroom . This role is an essential part of our instructional team, working closely with licensed staff to provide individualized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support in a structured and inclusive learning environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to support students with cognitive, developmental, physical, and/or behavioral needs
  • Willingness and ability to provide personal care assistance and meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while working collaboratively with diverse students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Under teacher direction, support individualized instruction and learning plans for each student.
  • Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior supports across school settings.
  • Provide personal care and assist with adaptive equipment and assistive technology as needed.
  • Monitor student behavior, support de-escalation, and follow safety and crisis protocols.
  • Collect and share student progress data with instructional and support staff.
  • Maintain a safe, structured environment and collaborate with the educational team to support student success.
