About The Position

How do we create a vibrant and engaged learning community dedicated to growth for all? Canby School District is home to 4,100 students and over 500 dedicated staff members across nine schools. We serve a diverse community in both rural and suburban settings, creating a place where strong relationships and innovation go hand-in-hand. We are currently seeking a committed Bilingual Instructional Assistant III to join the Lee Elementary team. This is a full-time (6.5 hrs per day), temporary position . Bilingualism in English and Spanish is for this position, as are 72 college level credits or successful completion of a paraprofessional certification.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or a minimum of 72 college/university quarter credits (Required)
• Certification as a highly qualified paraprofessional may be substituted for the education requirement
• Possess or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
• Fluency in English and Spanish as demonstrated by completion of the district’s bilingual assessment. To be considered fluent, applicants must receive a minimum score of Level 6 on the ACTFL verbal assessment and a minimum score of 18 on the district’s written assessment.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year of experience working with children or youth in an educational, childcare, or community setting (Preferred)
• Experience in interpretation and/or translation in an educational or professional setting
