About The Position
BASIC FUNCTION: Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups; monitors and report student progress. Will be helping students (primarily in an elementary setting) who are acquiring English as a Second Language however this position is considered districtwide and multiple school settings may be required. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Instructional Assistant I incumbents assist a certificated teacher by performing a variety of support functions in a regular classroom setting.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Supply proof of: A high school diploma and passed the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment OR completion of a minimum of 48 semester hours of study at an institution of higher education OR an associate (or higher) degree.
- Physical exam
- TB risk assessment
- CAN check
- A state/national criminal background check
- Drug screen
