GENERAL FUNCTION: Acts independently within established investment policy guidelines to develop, recommend, and execute investment programs designed to achieve the objectives of large and complex client accounts. Largely utilizes the Institutional Investment Management platform of investment strategies while maintaining flexibility to customize to satisfy clients and enhance relationships. Primary functions include investment management, client service and support of new business efforts. Capable of independently handling complex institutional relationships while delivering exceptional client experience and achieving sales and retention goals. Coordinate and facilitate client management interaction with other areas of the firm as required to satisfy client needs. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
  • Generally, the incumbent should have 7-10 years’ experience involving money management, including investment decision-making.
  • Solid communication and presentation skills are required for this position.
  • Demonstrated effective problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Advanced degree, such as an MBA or CFA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop satisfied clients and new sources of asset management revenue through frequent contact, usually for portfolios/relationships of a substantial size and complexity.
  • Handle all administrative aspects and present at periodic meetings including formal portfolio review with clients, boards, and other stakeholders.
  • Consult with major client relationships to develop investment objectives and implement a suitable investment plan and maintain an Investment Policy Statement for each relationship.
  • Utilize Institutional Investment Management platform to satisfy and enhance client relationships, articulating relevant strategies to clients and prospects and executing on investment plans.
  • Ensure policy and investment strategies align, modifying as appropriate.
  • Working with client advisors, participate in the development of new business opportunities by meeting with prospects, preparing and presenting proposals for investment management.
  • Utilize the One Bank process, proactively executing on One Bank activities including One Bank meetings, pre-call planning, and post-call follow-up to win new business opportunities.
  • Regularly engage with other members of the Client Service Team and external advisors to ensure effective communication regarding client objectives and coordinate portfolio changes.
  • Invest assets according to investment policy guidelines to deliver a competitive rate of return within the given level of risk.
  • Mentor more junior Portfolio Managers.
  • Maintain awareness of new investment strategies, techniques and products through regular contact with other industry professionals and through internal and external research.
  • Keep informed of market trends and analyze the effect of these trends on client's investment portfolios.
  • Keep current on the legal and tax issues with respect to investment decisions by consulting attorneys, accountants and other resources as needed.
  • Follow established investment policies and procedures including annual account reviews and working to minimize and/or document exceptions.
