This role is for an Institutional Investment Operations Specialist within the Syndicate Operations Team, which is part of the Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Operations Division. The Syndicate Operations team is responsible for the settlement and Syndicate accounting for new issue securities. The Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) division provides a comprehensive suite of capital markets, banking, and financial products and services, including corporate and transactional banking, commercial real estate lending and servicing, investment banking, equity, and fixed income solutions to corporate, commercial real estate, government, and institutional clients globally. Employees are expected to foster strong customer relationships while maintaining a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture, executing all applicable risk programs, adhering to policies, escalating and remediating issues, and making sound risk decisions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience working with DTCC, Euroclear, CUSIP processes, syndicate deal accounting, and general ledger (GL) functions
  • NASD Series 7 or Series 99 registration (or the ability to obtain as required)
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS)
  • Back-office operations experience, including trade entry and related operational workflows
  • Solid understanding of capital markets products, industry trends, regulatory developments, and operational best practices, with the ability to support higher-risk and complex initiatives
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and proficient technical skills (Microsoft Suite) with effective problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, perform under pressure, maintain motivation and energy, and meet established deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and execute assigned work independently
  • Ability to think creatively and approach challenges thoughtfully
  • Willingness to take on increasing responsibility and expand skill set over time
  • Highly capable analytical and organizational skills
  • A customer-service mindset supporting both internal and external clients, with clear written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Participate in lifecycle support tasks for institutional trade initiatives and identify opportunity for process improvements
  • Assist leadership in bringing individual or teams together in order to resolve complex issues
  • Assist in client account onboarding, input and monitoring of cash payments, customer service, project support, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, general ledger reconciliation, as well as, work to resolve confirmation and ISDA related issue
  • Provide subject matter expertise on projects along with internal and industry related initiatives
  • Review and analyze functional operational tasks that require research, evaluation, and exercise independent judgment to guide the deliverable
  • Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise on functions, projects, internal and industry related initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
