About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Institutional Investment Operations Associate within their Security Master Product Data team as part of the Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Operations division. This role involves accurate and timely product setup, maintenance, and exception management processing for all product reference data asset classes globally, including fixed income, equities, and listed derivative data. The associate will work in a fast-paced environment, managing risk, maintaining procedures, and identifying process improvement opportunities. Key aspects include stewarding security master data, providing high-quality client service support, investigating and managing data lifecycle events, analyzing complex issues, collaborating across teams to find solutions, and resolving proactive data exceptions in Security Master and/or Broadridge systems. The position requires excellent communication skills to build relationships with business partners (e.g., Front Office Sales and Trading, Syndicate Ops, Middle Office teams, Clearance, Settlements, Asset Serving, Market Risk, Technology, Tax Operations, Finance) and provide subject matter expertise for regulatory or business needs. The role also involves analyzing large datasets using technologies like SQL, Excel, Alteryx, and Tableau to solve complex issues, drive business requirements for technology enhancements, increase scalability, and meet changing regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 6+ months of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Ability to work on-site in stated location in compliance with our hybrid schedule
  • Expected hours are 9AM - 6PM with ability to work additional hours as needed depending on volumes
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • Subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check
  • Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification
  • Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the accurate and timely product set up, maintenance, and exception management processing for all product reference data asset classes including fixed income (agency, corporate, mortgage backed, sovereign, structured products, etc.) equities and listed derivative data globally
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, be able to multi-task and prioritize your daily workload to meet tight deadlines and close out all daily tasks on time and ensure proper and timely escalation when issues arise
  • Manage risk, maintain procedures, continually look for process improvement opportunities that create operational efficiencies that will improve client service and/or reduce risk
  • Actively steward our security master data and provide high quality client service support to investigate, manage data life cycle events that impact the products we support
  • Analyze complex issues raised by our data partners and consumers, collaborate across multiple teams, identify the root cause, and propose both tactical and strategic solutions to solve these issues
  • Research and resolve proactive data exceptions from various control processes and ensure timely corrections are made in our Security Master and/or Broadridge systems (e.g. interest/accrual breaks, vendor reconciliations, etc.)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our business partners to ensure all daily functions are completed in a timely and accurate manner, and provide SME support for all regulatory or business needs that arise (e.g. teams include Front Office Sales and Trading, Syndicate Ops, Middle Office teams, Clearance, Settlements, Asset Serving, Market Risk, Technology, Tax Operations, Finance)
  • Analyze large data sets leveraging various technologies (e.g. SQL, Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.) to solve complex issues, help drive business requirements for Tech enhancements that will drive transformational change in our space to better serve our clients, increase scalability to support business growth, and meet changing regulatory requirements
