Responsible for leadership, problem solving, and overall production goals for their assigned work cell. Reports to supervisor or manager of the assigned department.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate in English and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to prioritize work, work independently, establish and maintain working relationships with other employees.
  • Must be able to use linear and other measuring devices including but not limited to scales and gauges.
  • Must have basic PC Skills and be capable of accessing the required AS400 information to perform the required duties.
  • May be required to obtain licenses and/or certifications (i.e. Forklift cert., Welding cert., Bronze Lean cert.)
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for job.
  • Must successfully complete the Wheeled Coach Leadership Training Program.
  • Four years experience in a Wheeled Coach or related manufacturing environment.
  • Must be familiar with all aspects and processes of the department assigned.
  • Should be able to qualify for the highest ranking job classification within the department assigned.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40#’s without assistance.
  • Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions.
  • Ability to work with arms above head.
  • Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.
  • Ability to stand at a workstation for ten hours a day (minus specified breaks.)
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.
  • Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Required to handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
  • Ability to work in 105-degree heat for excess of ten (10) hours per day.
  • Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.
  • Safety glasses, or prescription safety glasses with side shields
  • Ear plugs
  • Close-toed shoes required on plant floor

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading and assisting personnel in the completion of daily production tasks.
  • Responsible for communicating tasks and instruction to work cell personnel.
  • Responsible for completing Leadership Training Program. (See HR Representative for details.)
