About The Position

Inspector shall apply all basic principles, methods, equipment, operating procedures and inspection techniques to enable accurate inspection of manufactured parts. The work associated with this position will be performed onsite What You Will Do: Set up and operate inspection equipment including CMM’s, roundness/straightness equipment and surface analyzer. Possess the skills and knowledge to manually inspect dimensions and features on a surface plate. Inspect features using optical comparators. Perform audits on certified operators per the QMS requirements. Understand all Geometric callouts and how to inspect to requirements. Perform preliminary review of discrepant product. Perform shipping/receiving/final inspection. Use of company NCM computer systems. Have basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technologies. Role may require standing/walking, lift/carry up to 35lbs, bending/twisting, kneeling/squatting/crawling, reaching, grasping/gripping/pinching/fine manipulation. Use push carts and pallet jacks to move hardware. Other duties and tasks as assigned. Other physical demands: May have contact with coolants and oils (petroleum based products) and chemical vapors from products during the normal inspection process.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Certification or credentials may be required for some roles

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using basic measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Experience with mathematical calculations (add and subtract decimals)
  • Experience reading blueprints
