The incumbent in this position supports the activities and responsibilities of the Quality Department.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation - maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Ensures defects are recognized to be fixed.
  • Confirms tickets and paperwork are with the correct items
  • Participate in Daily/weekly toolbox meetings to address problems and achievements.
  • Distinguishes wood color variations to ensure wood matches the color standards.
  • Judges wood color based on color standards
  • Notifies production lead person of a problem or issue.
  • Stops the line if a quality problem persists.
  • Records the number of each job on a notepad to track the number of items per ticket and to ensure accuracy.
  • Cleans items by using an air nozzle to ensure raw materials are dust free before going to the paint lines.
  • Checks for known defects, records, and removes the part off the line (if defective).
  • Interprets drawings to verify part specification (Rough Mill)
  • Preparation - maintains a safe, clean, and neat work area.
  • Confirms items inspected are the right color compared to the ticket/paperwork description
  • Ensures defects are recognized to be fixed by marking defects with tape
  • Scans Cabinet label to verify inspection is complete.
  • Stamp label or part with ID stamp to indicate a completed inspection
  • Interprets drawings to verify part specification (Assembly)
  • Inspects parts in Panel Processing dept. to ensure all quality specifications are met.
  • Inspects material at Laminators and records findings.
  • Conducts spot check audits throughout the Panel Processing department.
  • Verifies parts are in specification with the drawing as requested by Production.
  • Works with Quality Control on all changes in materials.
  • Assists production with providing product specification information/drawings.
  • Serves as a liaison between downstream customers and assigned dept. with regards to quality concerns; communicates those concerns with Production.
  • Interprets drawings to verify part specification
  • Identifies and verifies parts are correct by reading production paperwork/tickets
