About The Position

This is a professional position responsible for inspecting treatment centers to ensure compliance with regulations established in Florida Statutes. Review and audit all activities related to cultivation, processing, dispensing, delivery, storage, and seed-to-sale operations of treatment centers to ensure that all procedures, goods, and equipment comply with statutory requirements. Respond to inquiries from treatment centers regarding compliance issues. Investigate complaints and potential issues at facilities. Conduct follow-up inspections as assigned. Prepare written reports to document inspection findings. Initiate notices of noncompliance and work with management to communicate and resolve findings. Serve as point of contact with treatment centers on compliance actions for inspection related deficiencies. Provide education to facilities on compliance requirements as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; knowledge of computer data bases; knowledge and use of the compliance management system and licensing system used by the Agency; knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures and government rules & regulations.
  • Skill in reading and writing; investigating and researching; knowing how to find information and identifying essential information; finding ways to structure or classify multiple pieces of information; using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches; inspecting and evaluating the quality of products; organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand sentences and paragraphs in work related documents; effectively manage time; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; make sound judgments; interpret, understand and apply applicable rules, regulations and policies and procedures; ability to maintain strict confidentiality; ability to travel; ability to pass a thorough background investigation.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in monitoring, inspecting, auditing, or working in a regulated laboratory, horticulture, and/or edible product processing setting.
  • Knowledge of typical horticultural practices, retail product production and distribution, laboratory practices and/or related fields.
  • Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in environmental, biological, chemical, or one of the natural sciences.
