About The Position

Performs basic dimensional and visual inspection of parts, assemblies or final product.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, metric measurement and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-6 months related experience in science or math preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the inspection of purchased materials
  • Uses various measuring devices to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Prepares and maintains required inspection records.
  • Performs first article inspection and in-process verification.
  • Assists with vendor rating program.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Enters data into computer systems, supplies quality systems.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Maintain retained samples inventory & area.
  • Reviews revised SOP’s, Specs and CHOs (related documents).
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests, inspections on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Issues certificate of analysis/conformance when required.
  • Assists in maintaining sample supply program.
  • Completes special projects and work requests.
  • Documents complaint information and customer return reviews.
  • Routinely performs 5S activities in the area.
  • Routinely verifies accuracy & calibration status of equipment.
  • Performs periodic testing – e.g., skip-lot testing – in a timely manner.
  • Performs regular audits of Device History Records.
  • Other duties as assigned
