About The Position

As an Inside Sales Representative at Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in driving volume growth and maximizing profitability within an assigned territory by delivering industry-leading customer service and operational excellence. This position requires strong analytical skills, relationship-building abilities, and strategic thinking, and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to revenue growth, customer retention, and overall territory performance. You will collaborate with outside sales representatives, operations teams, and customers to ensure seamless communication, accurate order execution, and competitive market positioning. This is a full-time, on-site role located at our Kansas City plant, operating on a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys balancing customer engagement with analytical pricing decisions, and takes ownership of results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in inside sales or a related commercial role; manufacturing or steel industry experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Proficiency in computer-based systems and CRM tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service orientation with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Results-driven with a strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required

Responsibilities

  • Partners with outside sales representatives to drive revenue growth and achieve performance targets.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring consistent communication and superior service.
  • Identifies customer needs and delivers tailored solutions to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Executes outbound prospecting efforts, including cold calling, to expand the customer base.
  • Manages all aspects of order fulfillment, ensuring timely and accurate processing from request to delivery.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to coordinate orders with special requirements and ensure proper handling.
  • Monitors market conditions and communicates key insights, trends, and competitive pricing updates to sales management.
  • Determines competitive pricing strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Oversees customer inventory programs to prevent excess stock and obsolescence.
  • Facilitates expedited shipping for ready-to-ship materials to meet customer deadlines.
  • Provides territory coverage when the primary representative is unavailable.
