About The Position

As an Inside Service Representative I at Super-Sod, you’ll be the face of our brand, providing exceptional customer service to both residential and professional landscaping customers. From greeting walk-ins to processing orders, assisting with product inquiries, and helping maintain a clean and welcoming storefront, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring every customer has a positive, helpful experience. The Inside Service Representative I interact face-to-face with new and existing customers (both landscapers and residential) while providing exceptional customer service within a retail environment.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
  • Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
  • Knowledgeable about company’s products and services, and customer-related policies.
  • High school degree and business discipline.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with turfgrass sod and seed in a retail setting.
  • Additional education in turf management, horticulture, or similar field of study.
  • Bilingual skills in English / Spanish are a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greets customers as they enter the Super-Sod stores.
  • Operates curbside, counter sales and on the yard as needed.
  • Collects information specific to the customers’ lawn care needs both in-person and over the phone; directs request to appropriate turfgrass professional.
  • Processes orders using Point of Sale system.
  • Assist customers with questions relating to delivery, availability or price discrepancies.
  • Ensures accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at the end of shift.
  • Works closely with Store Managers, Inside Sales Representatives, and Loaders to provide optimal customer service internally and externally.
  • Communicates with Company Call Center and Service team members through digital internal communications boards.
  • Responds to requests from customers and assists with operational demonstration and handling products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Processes product returns and reimbursements according to Company policy and standard operating procedures.
  • Identifies prices and services and tabulates requested quotes using internal pricing software.
  • Communicates with members of other nodes to effectively support customer service and experience.
  • Keeps management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports.
  • Maintains storefront, displays and inside working areas to ensure workspaces are clean and accessible by employees and customers.
  • Responsible for upholding a safe culture and work environment at the location.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.
