About The Position

This individual contributor position works collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, and Partner teams to improve sales resource utilization and drive pipeline growth. The role is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and advancing sales opportunities through a combination of inbound and outbound engagement using phone, email, social media, and partner channels. Requirements

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; fluency in English required, additional languages a plus depending on market needs.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization in fast-paced environments.
  • Six (6) years of education & experience in sales, business development, or lead qualification experience—preferably in software, SaaS, or technology—demonstrated success in quota or metrics-driven roles.
  • Effective phone presence with strong listening, objection handling, problem-solving, and ability to assess client needs and present value propositions.
  • Experience using social media (e.g., LinkedIn) for prospecting and relationship development.
  • Collaborative, adaptable team player who learns quickly and builds trust.
  • Proficient with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with sales tech stack tools (e.g., Salesloft, 6Sense, Qualified Chatbot, ZoomInfo) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify and disqualify inbound and outbound software sales leads using defined criteria, managing inquiries from web forms, campaigns, and partner referrals to ensure timely follow-up and opportunity creation.
  • Conduct daily outbound prospecting—via phone, email, social media, and partner channels—to identify, develop, and advance new business opportunities through account penetration strategies and targeted campaigns.
  • Guide prospects through the Vertex sales process, supporting opportunity progression by understanding business challenges and aligning Vertex solutions to stakeholder needs.
  • Coordinate with VARs, partners, and internal sales teams to ensure communication, lead status visibility, and accurate, up-to-date records of all prospect interactions and opportunities in Salesforce (SFDC).
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on campaigns, trade shows, promotional follow-up, and participate in special projects and occasional travel as required.
