About The Position

The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the daily performance of the inside sales team while ensuring strong coordination across sales, purchasing, scheduling, and operations. This role drives customer satisfaction, pricing discipline, workload balance, and sales execution by providing hands‑on leadership, coaching, and oversight of key accounts. The Inside Sales Manager serves as a critical link between customers and internal teams, supports sales forecasting and management decision‑making, and ensures timely resolution of customer issues, credits, and claims in alignment with company standards and objectives.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in finance or business administration or 3-5 years of directly related metal industry sales experience
  • Basic Mathematics skills
  • In-depth understanding of the sales administration process
  • Ability to understand and use Safety Rules and Procedures
  • Must exercise a reasonable degree of judgment and possess the ability to recognize appropriate company policies that apply in each situation and follow them.
  • Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Metals steel products and service capabilities is essential

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Inside Sales reps to meet the duties outlined in their job description and audit their work throughout the day
  • Set and track sales targets for the Inside Sales team
  • Coordinate department projects to meet deadlines
  • Report on sales metrics and suggest improvements
  • Research and discover methods to increase customer engagement
  • Ensure sales objectives, finance, legal and company policies, and procedures are met
  • Build an open-communication environment for your team and foster a "feedback rich" culture.
  • Work with Materials Manager on Customers' requirements (tons, specs, inventory and pricing)
  • Manage specific customer accounts through phone and in-person contacts
  • Review and approve customer claims and work with Quality on corrective and preventative actions
  • Monitor credits to ensure they are resolved in a timely manner
  • Conduct meetings as needed (inside sales, steering, and score)
  • Interviewing and selecting new Inside Sales rep
  • Train employees on basic Inside Sales approach
