About The Position

At Whim Event Rentals, our Inside Sales Associates are the heartbeat of our sales team. You’ll work directly with clients to turn event ideas into beautifully executed rental orders — from first inquiry to final details. You’ll also partner closely with our Business Development Representative (BDR) to support outbound opportunities, client communication, and ticket creation. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys relationship-building, loves a fast pace, and takes pride in both closing deals and keeping the details tight.

  • 1–3 years of sales, inside sales, or customer-facing experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Event, hospitality, or rentals experience is a plus (but not required)
  • Experience with CRM or rental software is helpful — training provided

Responsibilities

  • Own & Support the Sales Process
  • Respond to inbound leads and guide clients through their rental options
  • Create accurate, thoughtful quotes, proposals, and tickets
  • Follow up consistently to move opportunities from “interested” to “booked”
  • Close sales and ensure contracts, deposits, and event details are completed on time
  • Support Business Development Efforts
  • Assist the Business Development Representative with client communication and follow-ups
  • Build and update tickets for outbound or prospect-driven opportunities
  • Help maintain organized records and ensure smooth handoffs from business development to sales
  • Support outreach initiatives with timely admin and system updates
  • Be a Trusted Event Partner
  • Ask the right questions to understand event vision, logistics, and timelines
  • Recommend rental solutions that balance style, function, and budget
  • Set clear expectations so clients feel confident every step of the way
  • Collaborate Like a Pro
  • Work closely with Operations, Warehouse, Accounting, and the BDR to ensure seamless execution
  • Communicate order updates, changes, and special requirements clearly
  • Jump in to support teammates during peak seasons (events are a team sport)
  • Stay Organized & Data-Driven
  • Maintain accurate customer, contract, and order records in our rental software
  • Track pipeline activity, follow-ups, and assigned opportunities
  • Assist with sales reporting and forecasting as needed
