About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Parts Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers and technicians, providing exceptional service while assisting them with their automotive needs.

Requirements

  • Proficient in using POS systems for transaction processing.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of inventory control processes to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Familiarity with automotive service practices, including diagnostics and vehicle maintenance, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
  • Develop customer relationships by providing excellent customer service in every interaction, this includes being friendly, professional, and efficient when working with all customers, both on the phone and in person.
  • Accurately look up parts with the computer system or manually to find the part customer needs.
  • Sell parts at the established price structure and consult with parts manager on all special pricing.
  • Know all first provider customers and pricing.
  • Prepare parts invoices accurately and thoroughly.
  • Fill out estimates for customers and the truck and body shop timely and accurately.
  • Maintains accurate records on all parts sold and ordered.
  • If the part is not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order if requested by the customer.
  • Issue credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
  • If customer is paying by invoice, obtain the following information: form of payment, amount of payment, received by, date and any change given.
  • Present the customer with the white copy of the invoice.
  • Keep current on new products and product updates and participate in all training programs that are made available.
  • Must obtain Freightliner Parts Expert certifications.
  • Assists customers, other parts personnel and shop personnel in the loading and unloading process.
  • Reorder standard stock and special-order parts on fast moving parts is getting low or due to a large sale.
  • Receive and mark all cores properly.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and order in the customer service, parts, and warehouse areas.
  • Assist in on going cycle counting and with annual inventory physical count.
  • Responsible for other duties as required or assigned.
