About The Position

The Inside Parts Sales Representative uses comprehensive product knowledge, customer, and interpersonal relationship skills to satisfy General Equipment’s customer needs effectively and efficiently in securing parts. Working with inventory control and service personnel, this individual will build knowledge by participating in off-site, in-house and self-study product training opportunities. This individual will also perform some shipping/receiving duties and warehouse tasks.

Requirements

  • Experience in parts sales in a retail environment
  • Computer skills: ability to navigate through many vendor sites and processes
  • Basic understanding of computer spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications
  • Excellent customer service skills, written and verbal
  • Requires a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in heavy equipment/construction industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Specializing in incoming calls from customers and Product Support Sales Representative employees working in the field.
  • Assist in the procurement, filling customer orders, stocking, and receiving construction and aggregate machinery parts.
  • Become proficient in the various online supplier parts systems to look up and order parts.
  • Build knowledge of existing product lines, service standards and procedures.
  • Acquiring parts and other items from vendors in and around the Fargo area in a safe and professional manner.
  • Assists in the collection of data necessary for efficient inventory decisions with Parts Manager.
  • Respond to customer needs in the procurement, ordering, shipping, and receiving of inventory.
  • Ship and receive parts and record all incoming parts, components, and assemblies into inventory.
  • Pull and stage parts for work orders.
  • Stock shelves as needed and organize parts locations balancing inventory control with work efficiencies.
  • Attend local, regional, and national parts training seminars as requested by company management.
  • Maintain close, positive working relationships with service and administrative departments.
  • May perform other duties as directed by Parts Manager and Branch Management.
