About The Position

The Inside Broker identifies, solicits, and arranges appropriate insurance coverage for clients by utilizing accessible markets. This role serves as an intermediary between the Agent and the Insurance Company for business renewal and growth, and is responsible for driving new and renewal business to ensure the brokerage team meets or exceeds production goals. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining client and agent relationships, soliciting, marketing, quoting, binding, and confirming new and existing business, and negotiating the best terms and coverages available. The position also requires ensuring submissions reflect accurate data, monitoring accounts for compliance with firm policies, assisting brokers with production goals, and maintaining current knowledge of the insurance industry and necessary licenses through continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or appropriate insurance designation
  • Three years of experience of wholesale insurance experience or its equivalent
  • Must be licensed in corresponding areas of insurance
  • Must be able to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies
  • Ability to understand the client's needs and have knowledge of the risk profiles associated
  • Ability to review information, make decisions and manage time effectively
  • Recognize new trends and developments in the insurance industry and be able to incorporate that into your strategy
  • Ability to develop, foster, and maintain an excellent working relationship with agencies
  • Leadership and team playing skills
  • Must possess and maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary
  • Maintain travel schedule depending on the needs of clients, Agents, and new business

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and cultivate client and agent relationships.
  • Solicit, market, quote, bind, and confirm new and existing business.
  • Negotiate the best terms and coverages available with accessible markets.
  • Ensure submissions reflect accurate data such as risks and coverages.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with the firm's policies and procedures.
  • Assist broker to meet or exceed production goals as assigned by CRC.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry and sales ideas through regular attendance at workshops, seminars, literature reviews and/or formal continuing education.
  • Maintain necessary licenses to produce business.
