Inpatient Pharmacy Technician
About The Position
The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and following established policies and procedures, is responsible for preparing and distributing medication and performing functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department. This role operates within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - Pharmacy Practice Sections. The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin regional health network is a partnership dedicated to patient care, innovation, medical research, and education. It operates eastern Wisconsin's only academic medical center and adult Level I Trauma center, conducting numerous clinical trials and studies. The network includes ten hospitals, nearly 2,000 physicians, and over 45 health centers and clinics, serving patients across the Midwest and the nation.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of 1 year of work experience in a hospital pharmacy department is preferred
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Boards exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Associations exam (ExCPT) is preferred
