About The Position
This position is for an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech within the Inpatient Pharmacy Department at Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL. The role involves full-time rotating shifts. For Retail areas, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications. This includes handling day-to-day tasks such as processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing customer service. This is described as an entry-level position, serving as a stepping stone to more advanced pharmacy technician roles.
Requirements
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required or obtained within 6 months of hire date (this requirement may be waived for current pharmacy students enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy)
- State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred
- Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program preferred
- 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility)
Responsibilities
- Assists the Pharmacist, under his or her supervision, in the daily operation of the Pharmacy.
- Assisting pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications.
- Handling day-to-day tasks such as processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing customer service.
