The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA), in the Department of Hospital Medicine is to promote and maintain the health of HM patients across the care continuum throughout the institution supporting the inpatient hospitalist programs. As the Department of Hospital Medicine is a service that operates 24/7/365, nocturnal shifts will also be supported by the hospitalist advanced practice providers for after-hours and weekend coverage, rotating holidays and COVID coverage. Shift: 7on-7off, 6:30pm-5:00am (Tuesday-Monday) The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and adaptable Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) with a strong foundation in hospital medicine and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care across the continuum. They possess advanced clinical assessment skills, including comprehensive history-taking, physical examinations, and psychosocial evaluations, and are adept at developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a dynamic, 24/7 hospital environment, including nocturnal shifts, weekends, rotating holidays, and emergent coverage such as COVID response. They are committed to continuous learning and actively participate in clinical research protocols, patient eligibility screening, and education initiatives for patients, families, and staff. Additionally, they serve as a mentor and educator for advanced practice students and other healthcare team members, promoting excellence and knowledge-sharing within the department.
