As an Inpatient Mental Health Monitor Sitter, you will perform health-related video monitoring in a correctional environment. We will count on you to report findings, observations, and the patients' unusual and daily activities to the licensed nursing staff. Requirements
- Six months of experience performing clerical or support services in a medical setting
- High school diploma or GED
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check and maintain MCSO jail access
- Travel or floating to various clinical locations is required within a 5-mile radius.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies.
- The position includes day or night shift work, which may involve weekends and holidays
- Must push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney.
- Must be able to work inside a jail and stand/walk/bend for extended periods of time throughout the shift
- This position requires accurately handling a high volume of work, communicating with a culturally diverse patient population, and adapting to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasks
Nice To Haves
- Experience viewing multiple computer monitors and reporting findings
- Experience observing patients and reporting findings to nursing staff
Responsibilities
- Perform visual or video monitoring of Inpatient Mental Health patients and report findings and observations to the licensed nurse
- Provide and maintain patient confidentiality
- Complete and process all required documentation legibly, timely, and with accuracy
- Assist the patient care team as directed to ensure patient care and unit activities are complete
- Participate in orientation and training of new staff, as well as group problem-solving and teamwork
- Complete required classes and education credits
- Answer phones as needed and perform other related duties as assigned
