Job Description Summary The Inpatient Analyst is responsible for the design, build, implementation, and maintenance of Epic Inpatient and other 3rd party systems utilized in the clinical inpatient space. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, analyzing workflows, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing system solutions to support hospital operations, including on-call and after-hours support as needed. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, analyzing workflows, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing system solutions to support hospital operations, including on-call and after-hours support as needed. Overview Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) seeks an experienced Epic Inpatient Analyst to be part of the Inpatient team and to support and maintain the Epic Inpatient modules and related applications. This role serves as a key liaison between IT, Prescribers, Nursing, other clinical teams, third party vendors and Epic. Flexibility for night/weekend work and on-call rotation is required during major implementations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of IT implementation/support experience
  • 1+ year of Epic Clinical Documentation or Orders experience
  • Epic Clinical documentation or Orders Certification
  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong presentation and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Experience with full Epic implementation lifecycle
  • Additional Epic Certifications
  • Clinical background preferred
  • Familiarity with other Clinical systems like Cbord, Wellsky Case Management, Indicia, and others a plus
  • Decision Support experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Epic Clinical documentation and Orders for Inpatient workflows
  • Analyze workflows, data, and technical issues; design and maintain solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to tailor systems to business needs
  • Document procedures, build/test solutions, and support training efforts
  • Provide on-call support and troubleshoot user issues
  • Review and test system changes and new releases
  • Support change management, QA, and disaster recovery processes
  • Communicate effectively across teams and contribute to meetings
