About The Position

The Director of Innovation is responsible for shaping the strategic foundation of the product portfolio—from insight generation through product concept development and launch readiness for all Blueroot Health brands (Vital Nutrients, Fairhaven Health, Bariatric Fusion, Unjury). This role bridges science, innovation, and brand strategy, ensuring that new and existing nutritional supplement products are rooted in credible science, clear consumer needs, and strong commercial opportunities. The Director of Innovation partners closely with R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, and Marketing to translate market insights and scientific differentiation into compelling product strategies that drive growth while maintaining brand integrity and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Nutrition, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in product innovation or marketing within CPG, dietary supplements, functional food, or health & wellness.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional product development initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of dietary supplement categories, ingredients, and regulatory environment (FDA/DSHEA familiarity preferred).
  • Ability to translate scientific or technical information into compelling, consumer-centric strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree in Nutrition, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Experience working in a regulated or science-based industry.
  • Experience managing multi-brand or portfolio-based strategies.
  • Category experience in dietary supplement.
  • Experience or interest in leveraging AI tools to drive efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee innovation across all four Blueroot Health brands—Vital Nutrients, Fairhaven Health, Bariatric Fusion, and Unjury—driving the development of product concepts, business cases, and go-to-market strategies in partnership with R&D and commercial teams.
  • Identify and deliver the 1-year and 3-year new product pipeline expected to generate more than 40% of annual company growth.
  • Lead the end-to-end innovation process, including the Stage Gate framework, ensuring new products are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Oversee product lifecycle management, refreshing and strengthening the existing portfolio to support continued brand growth.
  • Manages one direct report.
