About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team at the Innovation Center in Orlando. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the introduction of new equipment and technologies in our laboratory, ensuring seamless integration and mitigating potential risks. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement total system solutions that meet technical, schedule, and cost constraints. What You Will Be Doing Key Responsibilities: Perform all functions associated with the additive manufacturing process which includes, but is not limited to, machine operation, hands-on post-processing, specification compliance, completeness, accuracy, design soundness. Support the Lockheed Martin Innovation Center, which is a collaborative space outfitted with multiple capabilities including 3D printers, waterjet cutter, and virtual reality equipment. Assist with maintaining equipment, helping customers use the capabilities effectively, and other duties assigned by Innovation Center management. Requirements

  • Mechanical skills in assembly of engineering prototype hardware. Sanding, painting and general assembly of plastic and metal hardware components
  • 1-3 years experience in mechanical design with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, Python, MatLab, LaTeX or other CAD models, and GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) with excellent computer skills.
  • Experience with maintaining and repairing advanced manufacturing systems (Stratasys FDM, Prusa FFF, Formlabs SLS, waterjet cutter, CNC router).
  • Proficient in training on systems such as a waterjet cutter and CNC router.
  • 1-3 years Knowledge of additive manufacturing process and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Self-starter able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Possible experience with, and working knowledge of composites and plastics, bonding agents, primers, paints, fillers, epoxies, composites and related processes also a plus.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining, manual lathe, FDM/SLA/SLS 3D printing, laser cutting, thermoforming, casting (silicone, urethane, investment), injection molding.
  • Willingness to learn and train others on new tools as they become available.
