About The Position

The Ink Technician is responsible for preparing and delivering accurately mixed inks that keep flexographic presses running smoothly and producing high-quality packaging. This role requires a balance of color accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork to support production. It is a hands-on position focused on problem-solving and ensuring precise color results.

Comfortable using tools, computers, and measurement equipment
Ability to read and follow work instructions and adapt to changing priorities
Team-oriented with strong communication skills
Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to jump in where needed

Nice To Haves

Experience with ink mixing, color matching, or printing processes
Understanding of color theory (additive/subtractive color, color measurement)
Manufacturing or industrial experience

Responsibilities

Mix and formulate inks to exact specifications for wide-web flexographic presses
Create new color formulations using efficient, repeatable processes
Partner with Press Operators during setup to quickly match target colors and reduce downtime
Troubleshoot and respond quickly to color issues during production
Plan ahead using the production schedule to ensure inks are ready when needed
Verify color accuracy using quality tools (including spectrophotometers)
Maintain consistency across runs by managing ink inventory and minimizing adjustments
Label, track, and process all inks moving to and from the pressroom
Handle and dispose of ink-related waste in accordance with safety standards
Perform routine equipment checks, housekeeping, and preventative maintenance
Support and train team members on proper ink handling and safety procedures
Assist with monthly ink inventory and recordkeeping
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and team success
