We have an opportunity for an Injection Molding Technician to join our New Brighton, MN team. You will be responsible for ensuring that injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and connected automated systems are set to regulation parameters, meet quality standards and all production goals. You will set up and start up molding machines, read blueprints, and check products with calipers, optical comparators, and other testing methods and devices.

Requirements

  • 2-year Technical College degree preferred and/or 5-7 years’ experience in plastic processing of molding machines.
  • Good oral and written communication, computer literacy, basic management skills, problem solving techniques, strong organizational skills.
  • Physical requirements are standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting, and lowering weights up to 50lbs.
  • Steel toed shoes are required on the distribution floor.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure presses are started and running to standard process and troubleshoot those not up to standard.
  • Trouble shoot molding machines to bring parts into specifications for size, appearance, flash, splay, cycle time.
  • Develop and maintain standard operator instructions and process set-up sheets.
  • Be able to process a variety of engineering-type materials.
  • Participate in developing action plans to resolve problems with safety, quality, production, delivery and 5S.
  • Prepare maintenance work orders and ensure compliance with Preventive Maintenance programs.
  • Document improvements and problems with molds, presses, secondary, etc.
  • Must be capable and willing to perform all duties associated with changing injection molds (material set up, mold change, set process to black book, and inspect parts for quality adherence)
  • Actively participate in safety and 5S program.
