Injection Molding Manufacturing Supervisor (3rd Shift)
About The Position
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise and coordinate all production activities during the third shift in a plastic injection molding manufacturing environment. Lead, motivate, and develop machine operators, material handlers, and support personnel to ensure safe and productive operations. Monitor production performance including output, scrap, downtime, and machine efficiency; address issues to maintain production schedules. Coordinate mold changes, machine start-ups, and production adjustments with technicians and maintenance teams. Ensure adherence to safety policies, quality standards, and work instructions while promoting a strong safety culture. Identify and troubleshoot production or process issues and work with the team to minimize downtime and scrap. Manage staffing levels, address attendance issues, and adjust work assignments to maintain production flow. Complete shift documentation and production reports and communicate key information to incoming leadership teams. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 5 years of fast paced manufacturing leadership or commensurate experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel for production reporting and data tracking.
- Ability to analyze production data, including scrap, downtime, and efficiency metrics.
- Strong leadership and team development skills with ability to motivate and coach team members.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting ability in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to make independent operational decisions during overnight shift operations.
- Experience managing staffing, attendance, and work assignments to maintain production flow.
- Commitment to workplace safety and enforcement of safety procedures/policies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and capable of managing multiple priorities at once.
- Dynamic self-starter with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Functional ERP system knowledge (IQMS experience preferred)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience in thermoplastic injection molding preferred.
- Knowledge of injection mold machines, tools, plastics, and robotics.
- Mechanical aptitude.
