About The Position

Shape uptime on fast-moving molding lines Join a high-volume packaging and materials manufacturer in Allentown, PA as the go-to expert keeping injection molding assets running at their best. This is a hands-on, floor-based role on the Day Shift (Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM) in a non-union operation, with regular overtime available (about 5 hours/week). A day in the life You start your shift with a quick handoff from the prior crew, reviewing open work orders and critical alarms. You’ll move between injection presses, downstream automation, and packaging lines—performing preventive care, tackling unexpected faults, and partnering with production to minimize downtime. Safety comes first: you live by OSHA standards and follow LOTO and PPE protocols without exception. What you’ll handle Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding and downstream production equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to restore safe, efficient operation. Read and apply electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings to solve problems quickly. Support equipment changeovers, new machine installations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain equipment in production-ready condition and recommend enhancements to maintenance SOPs. Organize spares and support inventory control using FIFO methodology. Collaborate with operators and leadership to reduce downtime and boost throughput. Use personal basic tools appropriately and in line with safety and product-handling requirements. Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team-focused culture. Work overtime as needed to meet production demand and cover vacations. Tools, tech, and environment Injection molding machinery (experience helpful but not required). Automated production and packaging systems. PLC-controlled equipment; troubleshooting experience is preferred (no programming required). High-volume manufacturing lines with multiple pieces of industrial equipment. Fast-paced, safety-driven production floor. What you bring Proven industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or production. Strong electrical troubleshooting strengths paired with solid mechanical aptitude. Comfort with reading electrical schematics and blueprints; knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics; background in industrial equipment maintenance/repair. Ability to dismantle machinery, identify root causes, and repair or replace failed components. Self-motivated, dependable, safety-focused, and calm under production pressure. PLC troubleshooting is a strong plus; programming skills are not required. Injection molding background is a plus, not a must. Please note: facilities-only maintenance backgrounds are not a fit for this role. Compensation and benefits $33.30 – $44.55 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime opportunities.
