This role is for an Injection Molding Color Change Operator at their Murrysville, PA manufacturing plant.

Requirements

  • Possess the ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
  • Possess the ability to understand standard units of measure and to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices.
  • Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced repetitive environment.
  • Possess the ability to infrequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 pounds without assistance.
  • Possess the ability to use power and hand tools and operate moderately complex machines.
  • Possess the ability to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporary agency assignments.
  • Possess the ability to work in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possess the ability to perform lockout / tag-out.
  • Possess the ability to obtain fork truck certification.
  • Possess the ability to operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area.
  • Possess the ability to wear safety glasses ANSI Z87 approved, steel toe shoes, and other PPE as required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 months of previous industrial manufacturing or related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months of previous industrial manufacturing or related experience.
  • Previous certification in Hat Molding.

Responsibilities

  • Processes various component parts.
  • Coordinate workflow and material handling within work cell.
  • Use process support monitoring equipment.
  • Operate fork trucks.
  • Performs color changes and/or startups of injection molding machines.
  • Perform process control, start-up, process monitoring, press / mold maintenance.
  • Prepare raw materials including mixing for processing.
  • Start-up / operate part picker.
  • Run polycarbonate work cells, which requires additional trimming and notching.
  • Run lens work cell which has heightened inspection and cutting operations (expensive tooling).
  • Visually Inspects, trims excess material and maintains relevant paperwork.
