About The Position

Ingredient Control Technicians ship and receive, weigh, test, and maintain inventory of ingredients, as well as complete Master Sanitation Schedule tasks and ensure the quality of ingredients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Create kits according to written procedures and formulas while maintaining quality standards. Weigh “partial ingredients” according to the required amount of each raw ingredient per kit and label appropriately. Correctly document the issued quantities for every ingredient and lot number per kit. Inspect for quality and accuracy of quantities on all kits. Sign-off on all completed kits prior to shipping it to the plant. Responsible for the quality, traceability and accuracy of all kits. Report directly to Ingredient Control Supervisor as needed to communicate updates or modification of the kitting schedule, stock taking, Master Sanitation and additional various duties. Properly dispose of ingredient packaging materials. Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment by cleaning/sanitizing equipment, kit room and warehouse. Complete Master Sanitation Tasks as outlined. Organize and use raw ingredients according to the F.E.F.O. principle. Maintain ingredients to be stored according to customer specifications. Complete daily ingredient inventory accounts. Responsible for all Shipping and Receiving accuracy and inspection of quality of raw ingredients. Complete required paperwork: Manufacturing Orders, Logs, Trailer Receipts, etc Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment according to SOP’s & GMP’s. Transport ingredient pallets via forklift when necessary. Complete other duties as assigned within the Blending Department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • One year certificate from college or technical school preferred
  • three to six months related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw/interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • basic computer skills and the ability to learn inventory & manufacturing software.
  • Fork lift certification is required
