About The Position

The Infusion Office Nurse Coordinator functions as a nursing staff member of the Infusion Office Team, within an infusion pharmacy office setting. Responsible for checking clinical documents for accuracy, verifying infusion times for payroll and billing, coordination of patient care, and other job duties as assigned. Duties and Responsibilities: Retrieve documents and files when requested. Maintains client data/ records in an efficient manner, provides reports and documents when needed. Communication with patient’s case managers and infusion nurses Verifying documents for accuracy Monitors home infusion care provided to patients with acute and chronic diseases. Knowledge of IV access devices, patient assessments, multidisciplinary care planning, patient education, IV medication administration, laboratory values and ongoing clinical patient monitoring. Fosters new and existing relationships and maintains contact with other industry healthcare professionals for educational purposes and potential partnerships. Identifies patient and caregiver home infusion care appropriateness. Remains current on new therapies, industry trends, and accreditation standards for home infusion services. Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

Requirements

  • Current practical nurse license in good standing.
  • A minimum of 3 years nursing experience is recommended.
  • Practical knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements and knowledge of ACHC regulations as it applies to infusion home care is essential.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and liaison capabilities with well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a home care setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of insurance industry requirements preferred.
