About The Position

The Specialty Infusion Nurse Coordinator (LPN) supports and coordinates infusion services provided at the organization when treatment plans, prescribing, and clinical management are directed by external entities. This role serves as a liaison between external providers, internal infusion services, patients, and families to ensure safe, timely, and well-coordinated infusion care. Responsibilities focus on infusion readiness, coordination, communication, documentation, patient support, and triage assistance within the Licensed Practical Nurse scope of practice. This is a non-exempt, hourly position.

Requirements

  • Current Nevada Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Working knowledge of infusion therapy processes within LPN scope of practice.
  • Strong coordination, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with external providers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records systems and accurate clinical documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in infusion services, specialty care, or care coordination.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates infusion appointments for patients whose care is managed by external providers.
  • Reviews infusion orders and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy within LPN scope, escalating concerns as appropriate.
  • Ensures all required authorizations, consents, laboratory results, and external documentation are received prior to infusion.
  • Serves as a liaison between external providers, infusion staff, patients, and families regarding infusion-related services.
  • Maintains professional working relationships with referring providers and community partners to support continuity of infusion care.
  • Communicates scheduling updates, preparation instructions, and infusion-day expectations to patients and caregivers.
  • Provides patient and caregiver education related to infusion processes and medications within scope of practice.
  • Supports and assists with triage calls for infusion patients by gathering information, providing guidance within scope, and escalating to appropriate clinical leadership when indicated.
  • Documents coordination activities, communications, and patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
