About The Position

As an Infrastructure Technician I, you will be responsible for skilled infrastructure and structured cabling work, including installation, maintenance, and repairs. You will work with low-voltage category cabling, fiber optics, and communication systems. Your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's communication infrastructure. Requirements

  • Associate degree or Certification in a technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in installing, servicing, and maintaining low-voltage cable infrastructure systems.
  • Proven ability to install, terminate, and test various low-voltage cables and fiber optical cables.
  • Comprehension of industry standards and publications related to standard cabling practices and safety regulations.
  • Strong customer service orientation with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Reliability and dependability demonstrated through timely task completion and minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate company vehicles.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy work, including lifting up to 50-100 pounds, and meet the vision and motor coordination requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry and manufacturer-specific certifications and experience are preferred (e.g., BICSI, Panduit, Commscope).

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, service, and maintenance of low-voltage cabling systems, including Category 3, 5, 6, and fiber optic cables.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure issues, implementing necessary repairs.
  • Upgrade and enhance cabling systems to improve functionality and meet client requirements.
  • Coordinate with NACS Operations team members to ensure efficient project completion and timely response to work orders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records, including time reporting, work order progress, and client SLAs.
  • Request and manage equipment and supplies to maintain inventory levels and ensure availability.
  • Respond to emergency situations, providing timely resolution to client concerns and meeting SLAs.
  • Transport tools, equipment, and supplies to client sites, ensuring the availability of required materials.
  • Attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Achieve performance targets and demonstrate a results-focused approach, contributing to the organization's success.
