The IT Systems Administrator is a critical member of the university's Office of Information Technology (OIT), responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of institutional servers, systems, and infrastructure. This role plays a central part in supporting the technological environment that underpins academic instruction, research, and administrative operations. The Systems Administrator ensures optimal performance, security, and availability of IT services by managing server environments (on-premises and cloud), overseeing system upgrades and patches, monitoring performance metrics, and responding to system alerts and incidents. Working collaboratively with cross-functional IT teams, faculty, and administrative units, the Systems Administrator supports a diverse portfolio of applications and infrastructure critical to university success-including email services, identity and access management systems, storage solutions, virtualization platforms, and disaster recovery operations. The incumbent also contributes to the planning and execution of IT projects, system integrations, and continuous improvement efforts aligned with institutional strategic goals. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality service in a dynamic and evolving higher education environment.
