About The Position

The Information Technology / Operational Technology Specialist is responsible for ensuring the reliability and functionality of computer hardware, software, networks, and communication systems used on the factory floor and in administrative areas. This includes installation, configuration, development, maintenance, and documentation of in-house software, databases, and reporting systems. The role supports the implementation of new corporate software and hardware initiatives and provides technical support to factory personnel, ensuring continuous improvement aligned with manufacturing, quality, and distribution goals.

Requirements

  • Candidates should have knowledge in at least three of the following: Personal computer hardware, Local Area Network (LAN) Operations, Windows Operating Systems, Office and Business IT, Database Design and query, Manufacturing execution systems (MES), Scada, PLCs, Infrastructure automation and cloud computing.
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, and at least 5 years of relevant experience OR an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Technology, or a related technical field, along with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Production Process Knowledge: Understands the production process and its integration with IT systems.
  • System Maintenance and Improvement: Maintains and enhances factory floor IT solutions to support operational objectives.
  • Technical Management: Installs, configures, tunes performance, administers, and troubleshoots hardware, software, databases, networks, communication, and multimedia systems.
  • Data Security and Compliance: Supports data backup, disaster recovery, software licensing, compliance, security, and authorization policies within the factory.
  • Technical Support: Provides Tier I and II support for factory hardware, data collection systems, and business information systems.
  • Change Management: Applies to change management principles in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations.
  • System Monitoring: Performs daily monitoring to verify hardware, server, and system integrity, availability, and connectivity.
  • Network and Infrastructure Expertise: Manages firewalls, routers, SD-WAN, VPNs, switches, WLCs, wireless access points, and DNS/DHCP servers, Factory LMS/FAS servers.
  • Inventory Management: Oversees IT infrastructure hardware and software inventory per Nestle lifecycle policies.
  • User and Domain Management: Handles Active Directory, domain management, user accounts, authentication, and authorization using Organizational Units and Global Policies.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Works with factory personnel and stakeholders to resolve IT/OT system issues and coordinate outage communications.
  • System Development: Analyzes, develops, documents, and maintains in-house information and data collection systems.
  • Off-Hours Support: Provides demand-based technical support aligned with factory off-hours requirements.
  • Project Coordination: Partners with factory leadership and engineers to plan and implement new or enhanced factory software.
  • Continuous Skill Development: Maintains and develops technological skills related to plant computer systems and promotes Agile methodologies.
