About The Position

Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time administrative position of IT Lab Coordinator . The Information Technology Lab Coordinator serves as the primary technical support specialist for computer systems in campus labs and classrooms. This position is responsible for the creation, configuration, maintenance, and overall functionality of instructional technology environments, ensuring reliable and efficient operation to support student learning and faculty teaching . The position reports to the IT Service Manager. This is an on-campus , in person position at the Western Colorado University campus in Gunnison, Colorado.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, computer science, or related field.
• Two (2) years of general IT experience ( May be substituted by education if bachelor’s degree in computer Science )
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated aptitude for Desktop support and collaboration
• Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in business-critical environments
• Self-motivated and able working independently

Nice To Haves

• Lab/Classroom management in Higher Education environment
• Experience with SSCCM/MECM, Active Directory, LabStats, MathCad , Mathematica, SolidWorks, AutoDesk and other lab products, Jamf , Apple School Manager, Intune.
• Familiar with reporting and data analytics software (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
• 4 years IT work in Higher Education

Responsibilities

• Key responsibilities include the installation and configuration of hardware and software, management of software licensing, system diagnostics, and user support.
• The coordinator works closely with faculty across all academic departments to align classroom computing en vironments with instructional goals, ensuring that technology effectively supports the academic mission of the university.
• This role also provides frontline technical assistance to students, faculty, and staff to address hardware and software issues in a timely and effective manner.
