Position Overview We are seeking an IT Intern to analyze Jira Service Desk data and help IT leadership understand where demand and effort are concentrated. This role focuses on turning support ticket data into clear dashboards and actionable insights that reduce repeat work and improve IT efficiency.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field
  • Strong analytical and data-organization skills
  • Experience with Excel; Power BI experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Must be available for the full 12-week program, running from Late May to Mid-August.
  • This is a full-time internship position.
  • Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
  • This is an on-site internship requiring daily attendance at in-person meetings.

  • Familiarity with Jira or IT service desk concepts
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, or IT operations

Responsibilities

  • Analyze historical Jira Service Desk ticket data
  • Normalize ticket categories and identify recurring issue patterns
  • Build dashboards (Power BI) showing IT demand, trends, and SLA performance
  • Analyze time and effort spent across ticket types
  • Identify opportunities for standardization, training, or automation
  • Present findings in a clear, leadership-ready format
