About The Position

The IT Intern – Help Desk Support role provides hands-on experience supporting WalzCraft’s internal technology systems and users. This internship is designed to build foundational IT support skills while contributing to the efficiency and reliability of daily technology operations. Through a 12-week program, the IT Intern will assist with first-level help desk responsibilities including ticket intake, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, workstation setup, mobile device support, and process updates. The intern will work alongside experienced IT team members while gradually developing the ability to resolve support tickets independently. Requirements

  • High school diploma or current enrollment in an Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical program.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and common office software.
  • Interest in IT support, troubleshooting, and technology systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to assist users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Organizational and time management growth.
  • Ability to manage multiple support requests while maintaining attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with IT support tools, device management platforms, or monitoring systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in company orientation and IT security training to develop a strong understanding of WalzCraft’s technology environment and security expectations while maintaining a Measure Twice for Accuracy mindset when handling systems and data.
  • Learn and utilize IT ticketing systems to intake, prioritize, and track support requests while ensuring all requests are documented clearly.
  • Shadow experienced help desk technicians to observe troubleshooting techniques and technical problem-solving approaches.
  • Provide first-level technical support by troubleshooting basic hardware/software issues while maintaining a Be Positive and service-focused approach with internal users.
  • Handle assigned help desk tickets with increasing independence, diagnosing common user issues while resolving problems efficiently.
  • Learn and work within IT management tools such as Ncentral to monitor systems, support users, and assist with routine IT maintenance tasks.
  • Follow proper escalation procedures when issues require advanced support or specialized technical expertise.
  • Assist with workstation setup, system imaging updates, and device configuration.
  • Support mobile device management tasks including phone updates and assisting with basic repair or troubleshooting of phones and tablets.
  • Assist team members with device repair processes and technical maintenance while learning best practices from experienced technicians.
  • Help resolve user challenges related to company systems, forms, or software tools.
  • Contribute to documentation updates, process improvements, and IT projects.
  • Participate in periodic quality reviews with an assigned mentor to strengthen troubleshooting skills, communication practices, and technical knowledge.
  • Demonstrate accountability, reliability, and initiative in daily responsibilities while supporting the IT team.
