Our internship program holds an 80/10/10 approach, meaning that 80% of your work time will involve performing tasks or work on projects within your hired work area. Another 10% of the time, you will be exposed to learning in other areas within your assigned division to get more corporate experience. Requirements

• Be a college student pursuing a Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science degree.
• A quick learner who is looking to learn new concepts and ideas.
• Must have strong verbal & written communication skills and be a team player.
• Must possess good problem-solving skills.
• Must be a self-starter, take initiative and be highly motivated.
• Be dependable and able to work a 38-hour work week in-person from our office in West Des Moines, IA during Summer 2026.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of coding courses such as Java, C#, .NET is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with tenured developers to develop skills required for career in Information Technology
• Gain real world experience related to project work, production support, and technical requirements.
• Explore different areas of Information Technology by participating in divisional activities.
• Learn about Farm Bureau Financial Services and the insurance industry by participating in organizational events.
• Learn about agile methodology by participating in daily stand ups, sprint planning, grooming and retros.
