IGNITE is designed to expose you to a variety of opportunities while fostering growth and learning. We are seeking students that are interested in a Summer 2026 internship supporting the Information Technology team . The IT Intern will report to the Help Desk Manager and will primarily support the team with imaging and configuring new computers, setting up and deployment of new computers, and technology inventory.

Requirements

  • Currently attending an accredited college or university.
  • Rising juniors and seniors working toward a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related major. Rising sophomores may be considered.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Ability to work 32 hours per week for the summer (generally 8:00-5:00 Monday-Thursday) for the duration of the 12-week program (5/26/2026 – 8/13/2026).
  • This internship is fully onsite at the corporate office in Lake Forest, IL. Local candidates only.
  • Experience equivalent to one year of technology (educational courses included).
  • Knowledge of Operating System deployment or installation.
  • Knowledge in Windows 10, iOS/Android platforms, networking, VPN, and WiFi.
  • Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite including email, calendaring, and instant messaging.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently after receiving work direction.
  • Good time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in Active Directory is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Imaging and configuring new computers according to company standards.
  • Helping to execute our annual computer refresh project.
  • Will work with employees directly to arrange timetables for refreshing their computers, imaging/installing operating systems on new computers, and helping to ensure that our IT equipment meets current performance and security standards.
  • Assisting with documenting and inventorying our IT equipment for the banking branches and the corporate office. This includes collecting information on equipment across the organization, creating and applying asset tags for equipment, and creating a process that allows for continuous upkeep of inventory.
