About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Information Systems Specialist III – Entry Level to support the Space Force Range contract. Key Responsibilities Support Virtual Address Extended (VAX) Virtual Memory System (VMS), Distributed Range Safety Display (DRSD), Flight Operations Version 1 (FOV1), Launch Analysis Production System (LAPS), Radar Video Processing (RVP), Surveillance Control Display System (SCDS), Single Point Acquisition and Radar Control (SPARC) Switch Control (SC), SPARC Radar Graphics (RG), NASCOM Interface Personal Computer (NIPC), and Ascension Designate Software System (FADSS) systems in classified or unclassified modes of operation with monitoring and logging software to collect and manage events and system status Daily use of scripting skills (Perl, UNIX, Linux, VMS) to aid team within the bounds of Configuration Management Control Create and manage backup software/hardware and recovery strategies Create and manage use of Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies and various forms of removable media Facilitate system initiatives and new projects that are being developed or installed Author and manage scripts to help support critical data reduction applications, and streamline functionality during conversion from older to newer platforms Works directly with Information Assurance (IA) support group verifying IA compliance Resolve errors and alarms quickly and provides timely problem escalation Promotes process improvements Complete assigned training Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technical discipline, related military experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 0 - 2 years’ experience supporting computer systems, software applications and computer hardware associated with or comparable to Ground Based Range Safety systems
  • Understanding of and experience working with a wide variety of Server and/or workstation platforms using a variety of hardware platforms
  • Experience using DOS, Windows, Ultrix, AIX, Unix, Linux and VAX/VMS operating systems, preferred
  • Understanding of networking - routing, subnets, UDP, TCP, IP and VLANs on various systems (switches/Routers/Gateway interfaces), preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting, performing root cause analysis, identifying and isolating technical issues, preferred
  • Technical writing capabilities to document system and operational observations, preferred
  • Experienced in a multi-server environment with cluster technologies and interface connection strategies, preferred
  • Familiarity with Eastern Range Ground Based Range Safety systems, preferred
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral, to interact with team members, leadership and customers
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be quality driven and customer service oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with unscheduled changing priorities and still meet assigned deadlines

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
